Kerry Kores, DVM • Medical Director

Dr. Kerry Kores is a native of Southern California, but has spent the vast majority of her life in Dallas. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Southampton College-Long Island University in New York, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She then completed a small animal surgical and medicine internship at Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Irvine, California.

Dr. Kores lives with her husband, two sons and her dog Puppy. She also has 5 chickens and a bunny. She enjoys gardening, skiing, the beach and fine dining.

Patrick Martin, DVM • Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Patrick Martin was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and earned both his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Oklahoma State University. As a small animal general practitioner, he has a special passion for working with ferrets and a strong professional interest in endoscopy, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine.

Outside of veterinary practice, Dr. Martin leads an active lifestyle—he enjoys skateboarding, woodworking, and grilling with friends. He also treasures time with his wife, Katlyn, and his two stepsons. The Martin family shares their home with a lively pack: Porkchop the Rottweiler, Frank the Pug, and Sue, their playful Great Pyrenees.

Maximilian Miranne, DVM • Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Miranne is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and a ravenous fan of the Tigers. In 2018 Dr. Miranne started his career in the Four Corners region of New Mexico working with small animal exotics as well as companion animals. His professional interest include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, management of endocrine disease, and working closely with rescue groups.

Since coming to Texas in 2022, Dr. Miranne has enjoyed experiencing life in Dallas with his dog, Ringo.

Kaitlin Thompson, DVM, MS VPHE • Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Kaitlin Thompson is a DFW native from Flower Mound. She earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology with a minor in Hispanic studies from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, in 2020. She is a 2025 graduate of Texas A&M University, where she completed a dual degree program, earning both her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master’s in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology.

Dr. Thompson currently lives in Dallas with her dog, Oliver, and enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, skiing, and exploring new restaurants.

Katlyn Martin • Director of Operations

Katlyn Martin is the Director of Operations at Vickery Place Animal Hospital, where she has been an integral part of the team since 2017. She originally joined as the practice manager, bringing with her nearly a decade of leadership experience in human dentistry across a variety of roles.

Katlyn is passionate about building strong relationships with rescue groups, enhancing the client experience, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Her commitment to excellence and compassionate leadership continues to drive the success of Vickery Place Animal Hospital.

Outside of work, Katlyn enjoys spending time with her family—including her husband, Dr. Patrick Martin, and her two sons, Dillon and Owen—as well as their three beloved pets: Porkchop the Rottweiler, Sue the Great Pyrenees, and Frank, an affectionate pug adopted through DFW Pug Rescue. When not at the clinic, she can often be found cheering on her sons at sporting events and choir performances, working in her garden, or diving into her next creative craft project.

Grifen Taunton • Office Manager

Grifen was raised in the Houston, Texas area, but has lived in a few places from Abilene, Texas to Long Island, New York. He started his career working with animals in 2014 at a dog training facility and switched to veterinary medicine in 2019. He has worked in all kinds of hospitals doing relief, emergency, general practice, and specialty medicine. His largest passion in veterinary medicine is staff and client education. He enjoys creating an environment where the doctors, technicians, and clients all work together to provide the best care possible.
