Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging is a valuable technique used in veterinary medicine. It allows for the visualization of soft tissues and organs, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions such as pregnancy, tumors, and organ abnormalities. Our veterinary ultrasound services are non-invasive and provide valuable insights into your pet's health.

If your pet ever needs an ultrasound, it can help us diagnose:

  • Fluid in the abdomen or around the heart
  • Obstructions in the GI tract (foreign bodies)
  • Non–cancerous tumors
  • Cancerous tumors
  • Cysts
  • Liver conditions

IS ULTRASOUND COMFORTABLE?

Like human ultrasound, pet ultrasound is entirely non-invasive and painless for your pet. An ultrasound procedure can be done quickly, which many pets won't have a problem with. By performing an ultrasound if warranted, we can help diagnose your pet in a timely manner and make a treatment plan that helps to alleviate any symptoms they're experiencing from their condition.

HOW DOES ULTRASOUND WORK?

To get the best image, a portion of your pet’s fur is clipped. Sound waves are emitted through a small handheld probe in measured pulses that penetrate the skin that echo off of the internal soft tissue organs. The echo is translated into images that allow the veterinarian to evaluate the organs and blood vessels in real time.
