Kerry Kores, DVM • Medical Director

Dr. Kerry Kores is a native of Southern California, but has spent the vast majority of her life in Dallas. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Southampton College-Long Island University in New York, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She then completed a small animal surgical and medicine internship at Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Irvine, California.

Dr. Kores lives with her husband, two sons and her dog Puppy. She also has 5 chickens and a bunny. She enjoys gardening, skiing, the beach and fine dining.

Patrick Martin, DVM • Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Patrick Martin is native of Dallas, Texas. He received both his undergraduate degree and doctorate of veterinary medicine from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Martin is a small animal general practitioner, but also enjoys working with ferrets and rabbits. His professional interests include ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine. In his free time, Dr. Martin enjoys skateboarding, woodworking, cooking out with friends and playing with his dog, Molly.

Maximilian Miranne, DVM • Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Miranne is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and a ravenous fan of the Tigers. In 2018 Dr. Miranne started his career in the Four Corners region of New Mexico working with small animal exotics as well as companion animals. His professional interest include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, management of endocrine disease, and working closely with rescue groups.

Since coming to Texas in 2022, Dr. Miranne has enjoyed experiencing life in Dallas with his dog, Ringo.

Katherine White, DVM • Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Katy White was raised in the Dallas, Texas area. She received her Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A& M University. Dr. White moved back to Dallas in 2015 after finishing a rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital.

Dr. White currently serves on the board of Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association. She has professional interest in dermatology and ophthalmology. She also loves sighthounds and working with unique breeds.

Dr. White lives in the White Rock area with her husband, Saluki dogs, and cats. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, spending time with family, walking her dogs, traveling and trying new restaurants. She is a member of the Junior League of Dallas and volunteers weekly at Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship.

 

Wendy Dearixon, DVM • Founding Partner

Dr. Wendy Dearixon received her undergraduate education in Biochemistry at Texas A&M University and her veterinary degree from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. While not a native Texan, she did, “get here as soon as she could.” Dr. Dearixon has been a District Director of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and is actively involved in Christian Veterinary Mission.  She is also a member or American Veterinary Medical Association, Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and American Ferret Society.

Dr. Dearixon spends her free time horseback riding, jogging, and otherwise enjoying the great outdoors with her family. Her husband, John Vandermeer, is also a veterinarian, and they have three children, Emily, Marshall and Hannah- all Aggies! They share their home with dogs Lola and Ricky Bobby, their cat Duke, and an aquarium full of fish.  On their ranch in Ennis, they have 4 horses named Lefty, Sunny, Roy, and Jones.

She is not regularly taking appointments, but you might see her around the clinic from time to time.

Katlyn Donnell • Director of Operations

Katlyn Donnell has been with Vickery Place Animal Hospital since 2017, first in her role as our Practice Manager and most recently as our Director of Operations. Her passions at work include creating and establishing lasting relationships with clients and their pets, encouraging a fun and positive culture in the practice, staff development and working closely with our rescue groups.

In her spare time, you can find Katlyn cheering on her two sons at their various sporting events, knitting or curled up with a good book! Katlyn also enjoys being a foster and transporter for DFW Pug Rescue. She has quite the pack at home with Champ the English Setter, Porkchop the Rottweiler, and the newest addition, Frank, a loveable pug that she rescued from DFW Pug Rescue.

Grifen Taunton • Lead Veterinary Technician

Grifen was raised in the Houston, Texas area, but has lived in a few places from Abilene, Texas to Long Island, New York. He started his career working with animals in 2014 at a dog training facility and switched to veterinary medicine in 2019. He has worked in all kinds of hospitals doing relief, emergency, general practice, and specialty medicine. His largest passion in veterinary medicine is staff and client education. He enjoys creating an environment where the doctors, technicians, and clients all work together to provide the best care possible.
