Pet Diagnostics tools

Vickery Place Animal Hospital provides advanced veterinary diagnostic tools and services to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions in pets. Our state-of-the-art facilities and experienced team of veterinarians utilize cutting-edge imaging technologies to provide accurate and detailed assessments for our soft-tissue and orthopedic surgeries as well.

In-House Laboratory

Vickery Place Animal Hospital has an amazing in-house lab that allows us to diagnose and treat your pet as accurately and efficiently as possible. From heartworm testing to full blood chemistry panels, urine testing, and microscopic evaluation of tissues and samples, we are able to get a total picture of your pet’s health within minutes, not days. This information enables your pet to receive necessary treatment as soon as possible. For testing more appropriately performed by outside labs, such as cultures, hormone assays and histopathology we use a number of local and nationwide laboratories.

Digital Radiology (X-rays)

X-rays are a critical component in assessing your pet’s internal organ and bone structure. Our digital x-ray unit provides the highest quality image to help diagnose your pet as quickly as possible. Should your pet’s x-rays need special interpretation, we are able to consult with board-certified radiologists.

UltrAsound

Ultrasound imaging is a valuable technique used in veterinary medicine. It allows for the visualization of soft tissues and organs, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions such as pregnancy, tumors, and organ abnormalities. Our veterinary ultrasound services are non-invasive and provide valuable insights into your pet's health.

Endoscopy

Veterinary endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure for direct visualization and biopsy of internal structures.

Endoscopes are thin, flexible tubes equipped with a light, camera, and a working “channel” through which tissue samples and foreign body retrievals can be made. The endoscope can be introduced through natural openings (such as the mouth and nose) or small incisions, depending on the area to be examined.

Electrocardiogram (ECG)

Electrocardiograms involve placing electrodes on your pet and measuring the electrical activity of their heart. Issues we look for are abnormal rhythms that may be present in cardiomyopathies.

Tonometry

When your pet's eyes are checked during his or her exam, abnormalities will warrant another look. Vickery Place Animal Hospital provides patients the benefit of a tonometry, a tool used to measure the pressure inside the eye, also called intraocular pressure or (IOP). Using an instrument called a tonopen to measure and track intraocular pressure over time, our veterinarians can diagnose and manage eye diseases more effectively, helping to preserve your pet's vision and overall eye health.

If your pet has red, irritated eyes, has suffered head or eye trauma, or is being monitored for glaucoma, bring them in to for an additional testing.
